However, it has been confirmed that after delivery, customers may have installed a sports or M sport steering wheel with a TAKATA airbag from BMW-approved replacement parts. The steering wheel in question is equipped with an airbag inflator using ammonium nitrate, and if the vehicle has been exposed to high-temperature and high-humidity environments for an extended period, the compressed gas propellant inside the inflator may have been deformed.
