When the vehicle was first sold, it was shipped with a steering wheel without TAKATA airbags, but after shipping, it was confirmed that the customer may have installed a sports or M sports steering wheel with TAKATA airbags among replacement parts approved by BMW. The steering wheel in question is equipped with an airbag inflator that uses ammonium nitrate, and the compressed gas propellant inside the inflator may have been deformed when the vehicle is exposed to high temperature and humidity for a long period of time. In this case, the front airbag on the driver's side may deploy abnormally during an accident, causing the inflator body to rupture. Inspect the steering wheel and replace the driver's front airbag module if necessary

There is a possibility of coolant leaking inside the exhaust gas recirculation system, and in this case, engine output may be limited or the engine warning light may come on. In extremely rare cases, the possibility of a thermal incident cannot be ruled out. (If symptoms such as engine warning light or coolant shortage warning light come on or power output decreases while driving the vehicle, immediately stop driving the vehicle, get off the vehicle, and use BMW or MINI Mobility.
