Replaced the EGR cooler and cleaned the EGR pipe. If leakage inside the EGR cooler is confirmed, replace the intake manifold.

There is a possibility of coolant leakage inside the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler. In such cases, engine output may be reduced, and the engine warning light may illuminate. In extremely rare cases, the occurrence of a thermal event cannot be ruled out, leading to a recall (*If symptoms such as the engine warning light or coolant shortage warning light illuminate, reduced engine power, or jerking occur while driving, for your safety, please stop driving immediately, exit the vehicle, and contact BMW Mobility Care at 080-269-0001. )

Replace the EGR module with an improved EGR module, clean the EGR pipe, replace the intake manifold if a leak is detected in the EGR cooler, and update the OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) for about 80% of B47 engine vehicles.

Recall due to potential coolant leakage inside the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler (*Replacing the EGR cooler prevents the possibility of coolant leakage inside the exhaust gas recirculation cooler. However, if the OBD is not updated, additional diagnostic and preventive functions cannot be used)

OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) Software Update 

*OBD Update Details: With the addition of diagnostic and preventive functions, the limits of error detection are improved, and the system switches to safety mode when an anomaly is detected. If an anomaly is detected in the intake manifold or a leakage is confirmed, a warning light will illuminate so that the driver can be aware 

*Among the vehicles eligible for the OBD update, customers who have already received the EGR module replacement will be provided only the OBD update additionally, while customers who have not yet received the EGR module replacement will be provided the OBD update along with the EGR module replacement.
