Defect details	When the vehicle was first sold, it was shipped with a steering wheel without TAKATA airbags, but after shipping, it was confirmed that the customer may have installed a sports or M sports steering wheel with TAKATA airbags among replacement parts approved by BMW. The steering wheel in question is equipped with an airbag inflator that uses ammonium nitrate, and the compressed gas propellant inside the inflator may have been deformed when the vehicle is exposed to high temperature and humidity for a long period of time. In this case, the front airbag on the driver's side may deploy abnormally during an accident, causing the inflator body to rupture.
