The steering wheel in question is equipped with an airbag inflator that uses ammonium nitrate, and the compressed gas propellant inside the inflator may have deformed when the vehicle is exposed to high temperature and humidity for a long period of time. In this case, the front airbag on the driver's side may deploy abnormally during an accident, causing the inflator body to rupture.
