[Important Notice] We have confirmed that two manufacturing defects, which are extremely unlikely to occur in the same battery cell of a high-voltage battery, can exist simultaneously, and this defective manufacturing condition may worsen when the battery is repeatedly/habitually charged to full or near-full charge after being significantly discharged, potentially exposing it to a risk of fire.
1. Please change the vehicle's maximum charging capacity to around 90% until a new recall measure is announced, and use the vehicle's charging option settings to change the 'Target Charge Level Option.'
If the customer is unable to change the settings on their own, they can visit a Chevrolet Bolt EV service center capable of performing recall work to have the setting changed.
2. After operating the vehicle, please make sure to charge the battery regularly, and try to avoid letting the remaining driving range of the battery drop below 70 miles (approximately 113 km).
3. To prevent any unforeseen situations, please park the vehicle outdoors immediately after charging, and if charging for an extended period (such as overnight), do not leave the vehicle unattended while it is charging.

There is a possibility that two extremely rare manufacturing defects may simultaneously exist even in high-voltage batteries produced through processes improved compared to conventional high-voltage batteries. In such cases, if the high-voltage battery with manufacturing defects is fully charged or charged close to full, smoke or heat may be generated, and as a result, the high-voltage battery and other components may melt or be damaged, potentially causing a fire, leading to a recall.

Recall due to the possibility that the insulation material under the carpet adjacent to the lower part of the B-pillar (column between the front and rear seats) may ignite due to the high temperature gas generated when the front seat belt pretensioner is activated. In this case, a fire may occur in the carpet adjacent to the lower part of the B-pillar when the seat belt pretensioner is activated.
